Having a Profile already doesn’t mean it will work forever! When a casting team opens a profile, what matters is that the images look as close as possible to the talent’s current, real self.
If a client picks someone from a photo but their face, hairstyle, body or personality has changed a lot by casting day, it becomes harder to judge whether they suit the job. In short: update your profile whenever your current look clearly differs from the old photos — especially for fast-changing kids and teens.
5 signs it’s time to reshoot your profile
1. Your face or body has clearly changed
Especially for children and teens who grow quickly, a fairly recent photo may no longer reflect the current look.
2. A new hairstyle, hair colour, or main look
Cutting hair short, growing it out, colouring, or changing your image all affect what a casting team sees and how they imagine you in a role.
3. Most photos are more edited than real
A casting profile should clearly show the real you — not make viewers guess “how much does the real person look like the photo?”
4. Only pretty photos, but missing shots for evaluation
You have a headshot but no full-body shot, all smiling shots but no other expressions, or only fashion shots without a natural look — it may be time to plan a more complete profile.
5. You want to expand the type of work you take
As a talent grows, develops a new personality, or wants to move from kids’ work to teen, from commercial to fashion or acting, fresh images help present another side of their potential.
A good profile isn’t shot once and used forever — it should reflect “who you are today, and what kind of work you’re ready for,” especially for kids and teens who change so quickly.
